If so, then don’t miss the Beginning Writers Guild Retreat at The Bowers House, Friday December 2 thought Sunday December 4, 2022  Arrival check-in 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. 7 p.m. Orientation, Meet and Greet social, retrieve reading and study guide materials Saturday December 3 – Daytime workshops, instruction, writing assignments and group discussion. Lunch will be served. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Sunday December 4 – 9 a.m. to noon. Optional mentoring and private coaching with Charles Prier. 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., continued workshop and summary or materials, certification. $350 Overnight Retreat Includes locally inspired and prepared meals, and comfortable living space with private rooms with work areas. As part of this workshop event, participants will receive an annual 2023 membership into Writers Guild at The Bowers House valued at $30.

Led by Charles Prier, accomplished author and publisher, this life-changing event includes dynamic presentations and instruction, group discussions, hands-on writing exercises and assignments. This illuminating retreat also includes a private optional Sunday morning mentoring session with Charles. Once the weekend comes to a close, you’ll walk away with the knowledge, skills and confidence to craft compelling reading material and to begin your journey as an author. Whether you want to improve your writing for your business or career, tell your story, or want to harness your imagination to produce your first novel, this retreat will elevate your writing skills and give you the confidence to begin your literary journey.

Meet Charles Prier, Retreat Director

Charles Prier has been a writer for 30 years with stints in trade publishing, the tech industry, local news and fiction. As director of Writers Guild at The Bowers House for the past 12 years, he has mentored and coached countless members on their journeys to become published authors. The author of four books, Charles has also edited and published the work of more than 20 members, many of whom are current Writers Guild members. In additiona to Writer’s Guild activities, The Bowers House is available for group overnight rentals to writers and artists and individual member residencies. ‘Bowers Hour’ documents the works of residents via episodic programming in the form of a concert, reading or performance. Donations and sponsorships are encouraged to keep the facility perpetual.
